Choral Risers

Choral Risers

ALGES choral risers with reversible steps that allow ensembles to create straight, arc, horseshoe, or winged configurations. The folding design and integrated mobility features make setup, repositioning, and storage remarkably practical.

One Riser System. Multiple Choir Configurations.

The ALGES Choral Risers give you a high degree of flexibility suited for different needs of choir performances. You are able to create your own pattern by changing the orientation of the steps. There is a wide range of configurations which enhances the performances.

The risers combine a 7/8″ (22 mm) 14-gauge square-tubing frame with carpeted plywood steps, a foot-pedal activated cross-brace locking mechanism, and integrated glides, casters, and positioning wheels. An accordion folding design further supports mobility and compact storage, making the system particularly practical for groups that regularly move between rehearsal and performance locations.

Flexible Configuration Meets Practical Mobility

The Choral Risers bring together configurable step orientation, folding construction, and integrated movement features to support changing choir requirements. Each element contributes to a riser system that can be adapted, repositioned, and stored as needed.

Four Ways to Configure the Choir

The reversible step design allows the risers to be arranged in straight, arc, horseshoe, or winged configurations. This gives directors and venue teams greater flexibility when planning the presentation of a choir within different spaces.

Reversible Step Orientation

The ability to change the orientation of the steps is central to the riser’s flexibility. Rather than being limited to one fixed arrangement, the same riser system can be configured to create different patterns for performances and rehearsals.

Accordion Folding Design

The accordion folding design allows the risers to fold for easier mobility and storage. This makes them particularly suitable for groups and facilities where risers need to be moved regularly rather than remaining permanently installed.

Automatic Cross-Brace Locking

A foot-pedal activated cross brace automatically locks the leg structure. The integrated mechanism provides a straightforward way to secure the leg structure during setup.

7/8" Square-Tubing Frame

The frame uses 7/8″ (22 mm) 14-gauge square tubing, providing the structural framework for the riser.

Carpeted Plywood Step Surface

Each step features 3/4″ (19 mm) plywood covered with 15/64″ (5.8 mm) grey carpet. The carpet is made from 80% polypropylene and 20% polyester fine ribbed cord carpet, giving the step surface a finished appearance suited to choral environments.

Epoxy Powder-Coated Step Edging

The steps feature durable epoxy powder-coated edging, providing a finished treatment around the step perimeter.

Integrated Glides

The risers are equipped with built-in glides on the stairs, supporting the movement and positioning of the units as part of the integrated mobility system.

Non-Marking Casters

3″ (8 cm) non-marking casters are incorporated into the risers to facilitate movement while helping minimize marks on floor surfaces.

Positioning Wheels

The risers also include 4″ (10 cm) positioning wheels to assist with positioning and repositioning during setup.

Defined Loading Rate

The Choral Risers have a loading rate of 167 lbs/ft² (8 kN/m²), providing a clearly specified capacity for planning choir configurations and facility use.

Built for Groups on the Go

The combination of accordion folding construction and integrated mobility features makes the risers well suited to travelling groups that need to move their equipment between locations and store it between performances.
